Philosophy/Vision/Mission

My philosophy as superintendent of schools is to be a “leader of leaders.” I want to empower my teachers, administrators, and staff and give them “buy in” on decisions affecting our school. We all must prepare  students with the knowledge and skills to be lifelong learners. We must facilitate and nurture the installment of a  culture and attitude in our students, parents, and staff that allows for everyone to be successful. It is imperative we establish a climate conducive to meeting the social, intellectual, emotional, and academic needs of our students. I believe there must be an “Expectation of Excellence” for all members of the TEAM! My vision is to bring the past, present, and future together to make the district the best we can. We must use the successes of today to empower us for the challenges of tomorrow. Students show up with their own unique strengths, challenges, accomplishments, interests, and passions. The students are all different, but one thing is the same, during their time in school, each one will experience life-changing things. In other words, they’ll grow. We must commit to providing the highest quality education possible. Our goal must be to help each student live, learn, and reach his or her potential. With the creative and demanding minds filling today’s classrooms, we must “captivate, motivate, and then educate.” Tony Dungy says, “it is about the journey-mine and yours-and the lives we can touch, the legacy we can leave, and the world we can change for the better.” There is no better place to touch lives, leave a lasting legacy and help the world than in education.
