Measurable Outcomes for Dropout Recovery Programs

It is a priority to serve students that are at risk of not graduating. On our traditional campuses, many measures are in place to support students and intervene if there is a risk of dropping out and not completing a high school diploma. In addition, our compensatory education programs are designed to increase academic achievement and reduce the dropout rate by providing supplemental programs and services. To further expand services and increases the graduation rate, Huntington ISd also offers a dropout recovery program at the Pride School.

Pride is a school of choice or alternative education program aimed at students between the ages of 16 and 21 who are credit deficient for  their age and are in danger of dropping out. P.R.I.D.E stands for People Redefining Intelligence and Discovering Education. The curriculum is aligned with the state standards and the instruction is delivered online by a certified teacher and is self-paced. Students must meet certain criteria in order to be accepted into the Pride School.

In accordance with Texas Education Code 29.081(e-6), Huntington ISD completes an annual review of measurable outcomes for each specific dropout recovery program.

Our most recent Annual Dropout Summary Report (2023-2024 school year) from the Texas Education Agency was released in June of 2025. The Pride School achieved a 100% 4-year graduation rate. Huntington High School achieved a 97.3% 4-year graduation rate and a 100% 5-year graduation rate.
