Digital Learning

In accordance with House Bill 3489 and Texas Education Code ยง38.0231, the Texas Education Agency (TEA), in consultation with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), developed health and safety best practice guidelines for the effective integration of digital devices in public schools.

These guidelines are designed to support school districts in balancing the instructional benefits of technology with the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students. The resources address age-appropriate device use, recommended screen time considerations, frequency of breaks, ergonomic positioning, safe and appropriate online access, cybersecurity protections, and staff training to ensure responsible implementation.

Our district utilizes these state-developed resources to guide the thoughtful and effective integration of digital devices in the classroom. We remain committed to creating learning environments that leverage technology to enhance instruction while prioritizing student health, safety, and digital responsibility.
