Huntington ISD Bus Routes
Route #1
Departs at 6:20 a.m. Serving the southwest side of town, it begins on FM 1669 to the "Salem Community". This community is compiled of several roads: Ralph Nerren Rd., a portion of FM 844, Walker Rd., Neal Rd., Beauchamp Rd., in front of Salem Church and Cemetery, Harvill Rd., Pahal Rd., to Buck Creek, back to Hwy 1669, Horse Shoe Loop, Hwy 1669 again to Franklin St., Gibson St., then begin student drop-off at Intermediate School, then to all other campuses.
Route #2
Departs at 6:20 a.m., serving the northeast area of the district. On FM 1669 toward Hwy 103E. Billy Clark Rd., Mill Creek Rd., Tom Holland Rd. (turn around at Morton's Chicken Farm), on to Nerren Cemetery Rd., turn around, retrace back to Tom Holland Rd. and back onto Hwy 103E, Greg Rudd Rd., (turn around at the "T"), retrace Rudd Rd., back onto Hwy 103E, Harley Golden Rd., CR 147B (Davis Rd.), back to Hwy 1669, the Don Anderson Rd., retrace to FM 1669, then to schools for student drop-off.
Route #3
Departs at 6:23 a.m. onto FM 1669 towards Hwy 103E. Left on Hwy 103 then to Davisville Rd. and ID Anderson Rd. to turn around at top of hill, back to Veteto Rd. and then Harley Golden Rd., Marion Ferry Rd., 103E, Hwy 1669, Deer Creek Addition, back to each campus for delivery.
Route #4
Departs at 6:30 a.m. onto Hwy 2109 to George Simpson Rd., turn around at triangle, Hwy 2109, Knight Wood Rd., FM 328, Herman Nerren Rd., FM 328, Robinson Lane to turn around at Walker's driveway, to FM 328 again, Cowart St., Hwy 2109, back to all campuses.
Route #5
Departs at 6:20 a.m., turns onto Hwy 2109 toward Sam Rayburn Lake Area, Roberts Rd., FM 2801, Phillips Rd. Area, CR 280, back to 2109 , Luce Rd., 2109, past Stanley Creek Bridge, first road on right, back to 2109, then to schools for drop-off.
Route #6
Departs at 6:25 a.m. onto Hwy 2109 toward the "Lake Area". Turning onto Palmer Ivy Rd., Lewis Rd., Martin Cochran Rd., Hwy 2109 again to Lindsey Lane, Guilland Creek Rd., Oak Hills Addition, back to 2109, Tanksley Rd., Hwy 2109, Robinson Lane, again Hwy 2109, Summer Lane, then to Huntington to begin unloading at each campus.
Route #7
Departing at 6:20 a.m. on Hwy 69S toward Zavalla. The first turn is onto Ozias Rd. with pick-up in that entire community, onto Hwy 69S again, then Marshall Ivy Rd., BW Horton RD., back to 69S for several stops, then onto Avenue A in the Wilson Addition to Jonesville Cemetery Rd., Hudnall Rd., Lowery Sawmill Rd., then onto student drop-off at campuses.
Route #8
Departs at 6:20 a.m. on Hwy 69S, then onto FM 844, Marshall Ivy Rd., Shop Branch Rd., FM 1818, FM 844 again to the end of pavement, turn around, Marshall Ivy Rd., turn around at Shop Branch Rd., Walker Rd., Elmer Dominey Rd. (CR 309), Ralph Nerren Rd., FM 844 again, Hwy 69 to Huntington, begin student drop-off at campuses.
Route #9
Departs at 6:35 a.m. onto Main St., then left onto Pecan St. to Housing Authority #19, onto 6th St., Ash St., Main St. again, then Hwy 69, Gibsonville Rd., Barbee Rd., FM 1669, Henderson St., Gibson St., to campuses.
Route #10
Departing at 6:50 a.m. on Hwy 69 toward Lufkin, turn on 1st St., Porterville Rd. (which turns into Charlie Porter Rd. at the stop sign), Old Hwy 69, Danny Reed Rd., Hwy 69 again to begin campus unloading.
Route #11
Departs the Bus Barn at 7:15 a.m. to begin an "in-town" route. Linn St., Main St., Pecan St., Second St., Walnut Ridge Apts., Hwy 69 to Huntington Arms Apts., 1st St., Franklin St., Gibson St., to A & B Trailer Part, then to each campus for drop-off.
Route #12
Departs at 6:50 a.m. onto Hwy 2109, Crippen Rd., FM 328, Hwy 2109, 6th St., Ave. F, Comfort Homes Trailer Park, Oklahoma St., and Ave. A in the Wilson Addition, Hwy 69, then on to each campus for drop-off.
Route #14
Departs at 6:30 a.m. on to Hwy 2109, Eugene Walker Rd., turn around, back to Hwy 2109, Red Oak Trail and Pinestraw Rd., Bentwillow Road all in the Fort Stanley Creek Sub-Division, Youngblood Rd., Viking Cove, Shofner Cemetery Rd., Lindsey Lane, Rustic Acres, Hwy 2109 again, back to Huntington to each campus for student delivery.
Route #23
Departs at 6:25 a.m. onto FM 1669 to Hwy 103E, Ewing Park Store area, Hwy 103E, Old Ewing Rd., Landrum Rd., Bo Jack Rd., West Maple St. into town, then to campuses.
 
The four bus routes for handicapped students and the three routes for Pre-K students vary. For information on these routes, call the Transportation Office at 936-876-5401 or the campus where student is enrolled.

Transportation Department duties include coordinating transportation for daily commuting, extracurricular events (sporting events...etc), curricular events (required field trips), after-school activity buses, the Cooperative Work Experience Program, and special needs students. Safety is high priority and a group effort.

In addition, elementary students who live less than 2 miles from their campus are eligible for transportation under certain limited conditions.

The Transportation Department is responsible for transporting approximately 1000 students each morning and afternoon, operating 15 regular routes, 4 handicap routes and 3 Pre-K routes.

Huntington ISD school buses travel over 1,100 miles each day on home-to-school routes, extra and co-curricular trips, and training assignments. Approximately 29 total employees work in the department including route drivers, substitute drivers, bus monitors and aides, vehicle maintenance personnel, and office staff.
